Brillant concept from Steve Gibson that discusses really easy to remember passwords that are impossible to hack. If you use a word from a dictionary you need to watch the latest edition of Security Now at http://twit.tv/sn - skip forward to the 1 hour 2 minute mark.
Is this Warren Gatland’s hail mary?
I normally like what Ed Rendell has to say, and I like what he has to say about rugby in this article. He thinks sevens has appeal to NFL fans. Then discusses the lack of pads, big money and prima donnas as reasons for rugby to be attractive to the blue-collar Eagles fans plus the low cost of tickets. He could’ve added the free Dropkick Murphy’s concert on Saturday night and the good natured fun crowd but will come to watch this tournament (rugby people are unique).
All of this is true but the big opportunity this year if the NFL does have a lockout is the Rugby World Cup, from the start of September to mid-October the best rugby players in the world will play for the Webb Ellis trophy in New Zealand. While the live TV times are not friendly for US audiences tape delay broadcasts in prime time on NBC would be perfect for a football starved America. Pool C seems designed for US audiences where there is a superpower contest with the USA v Russia on September 15 plus Irish-Americans and Italian-Americans can scream up TVs all over the country when Ireland take on Italy on October 2 in what is sure to be the deciding game for who qualifies to the quarterfinals.
As a sports fan I hope the lockout doesn’t happen, as someone who loves rugby I hope it does and opportunity is grabbed with both hands by the IRB, NBC and USA Rugby.
